Hi I'm new to this group and don't have much knowledge of coin collecting.

I have a question though.

I just found an a nickel from 1882.

One website said its worth could be from $5 to $500 (depending on the condition of the coin, which is fair).

Can anyone tell me where I possibly turn this coin in to sell?

(and I dont want to sell it on ebay)

thanks!

Any local coin shop would do. This is where I would go if I still lived there.

    maps.google.com/maps

Find one in the Yellow Pages or use the internet. Go there and ask how much they'd give you. If you live near many shops, go to three or four. If you think you're being ripped off, leave.

What is the condition of the coin? Can you scan it? Let us see?
